Folder names appear the way they actually are on the user's system (in previous version, they appeared are in ALL CAPS).
It is now possible to select several files (holding the <Ctrl> key while clicking on file names).
Improved Slide tray window
Dragging and dropping a picture from one frame to another optionally switches the pictures (in previous version, the first picture was copied over the second). (see new option "Dropping slide action from slide tray" in the Preferences dialog box, "Workbench" tab).
Dragging a picture from the preview window and dropping it into the slide tray optionally inserts the picture into a new frame (in previous version, the destination frame was overwritten). (see new option "Dropping slide action from preview" in the Preferences dialog box, "Workbench" tab).
Up/Down arrows and PgUp/PgDwn keys scroll the frames.
New features
"Global changes": located in the Edit menu, this dialog performs global changes on the active slide tray:
- change dates
- change transition styles
- add/substract n seconds to delays
Text screens: frames which contain no picture are displayed as text screens. The background color is defined by a new option in the Preferences dialog box, "Text&Date" tab : "Blank screen background color". The text is displayed in the center of the screen, using the fonts settings defined in the same tab.
Pop-up menu available in full-screen preview: opens with mouse right button, with these options:
- Next slide
- Previous slide
- Automatic (starts the show without performing the transitions effects)
- Show file name
- Fit to screen
AML Wizard: a simple dialog-based wizard to help new users to build their first slide show. Uncheck the built-in "Enable wizard at start-up" to disable it.
One-click slide show: a single click on the "Insert" button in the Open image/sound directory inserts all pictures from selected directory into the slide tray. If no slide tray is currently opened, a new one will be created.
New on-line help file format: all help pages are stored in a single "Aml.chm" compressed file. The new help viewer requires that Microsoft Internet Explorer (version 3.02 or later) be set up on user's computer. It is not required that Internet Explorer be used as the system's default browser, or that the Internet Explorer icon be visible on the user's desktop.
Projector program
Improved graphic hardware support
Some users reported display problems, which were due to local DirectX installation, or buggy video drivers. A small square appeared around the mouse cursor, or the pictures were strongly distorted. Now, the Projector program can use Windows GDI display mode (see new option "Graphic mode" in the Preferences dialog box, "Projector" tab). GDI mode should solve most of these problems.
Slide show defaults to user's current monitor resolution the first time it runs (in previous version, default resolution was VGA 640x480).
Improved features
It is now possible to exit the slide show while a transition effect is in progress.
The 24 slides limitation for the unregistered version of the projector is removed. This way, registered users may easily transfer their slide shows on CD-Roms, allowing non-registered users to view them entirely.
New features
Use the mouse as a remote control:
- right-button click: show next slide
- right-button double click: show previous slide
- right-button "long" click (button pressed down, staying down for at least 1 second and then button up): stop on current slide
Use the keyboard to control the show:
- <Left> arrow or <Up> arrow : move one slide backwards
- <Right> arrow or <Down> arrow : move one slide forwards
- <Home> : goto first slide
- <End> : goto last slide
- <PgUp> moves 5 slides backwards
- <PgDwn> moves 5 slides forwards
- <S> turns sound on, <Ctrl-S> turns sound off
- <A> enters "automatic" mode, <Ctrl-A> stops on current frame and enters "manual" mode
Autostart: if the new "Autostart" option (in the Preferences dialog box, "Projector" tab) is unchecked, then the projector will display the 1st slide of the show, and stand-by until the user starts it manually (with the remote control, or by pressing the <A> key.
Play music files repeatedly: the projector will optionally play a file repeatedly until some other sound file is defined later in the show. (see new option "Loop over sound files" in the Preferences dialog box, "Projector" tab)
Disabling the on-screen remote control: the new option "Disable remote control" (in the Preferences dialog box, "Projector" tab) prevents the remote control from popping-up during the show. It hides the mouse pointer too. It is still possible to gain manual control over the show, using the mouse's right button or the keyboard (see above).
Sound status, graphic mode, and automatic mode indicators are displayed on the remote-control.
The frame numbers may be optionally displayed. (see new option "Show frame number" in the Preferences dialog box, "Text & Date" tab)
When exiting on <Esc> key, show confirmation dialog "Do you really want to quit ?" with yes/no buttons.
